Manchester City vs West Brom Betting Tips & Predictions

Manchester City enjoyed a very good evening in Paris on Wednesday. They managed to go a goal up against Paris Saint Germain, and despite then conceding twice managed to come away with an impressive 2-2 draw thanks to a Fernandinho equaliser.

This was a better result than most Manchester City fans could have hoped for, and it places even more emphasis on the second leg at the Etihad next week. The match and travelling will have taken it’s toll on the Man City stars though, so I would expect to see a weakened line up facing West Brom as Manuel Pellegrini looks to keep his first team players fit and ready for Tuesday’s second leg.

Despite this impressive result in Paris and their 4-0 win over Bournemouth last weekend, the hosts aren’t in particularly good form. Only one of their last five outings in all competitions has resulted in a victory, and at home they have lost three, drawn one, and won one of their last five.

This has put their Champions League qualification spot in jeopardy, and they now hold just a one point advantage over 5th placed Manchester United and three points lie between them and West Ham in 6th.

West Brom are heading for another mediocre but safe season. They sit in 11th position with 40 points from their opening 31 games, but they have proved quite difficult to beat lately.

They have only lost one of their last five outings in all competitions, and they have managed to win three of their last six Premier League games. This includes impressive wins over Everton and Manchester United as well as an away draw against top of the table Leicester.

It will still be a tall order for West Brom to get anything out of this game, but I’m not expecting a mauling. They have only lost one of their last 19 Premier League games by more than a single goal, and with Manchester City in poor form at the Etihad I can see the visitors holding their own on Saturday.
