Montenegro vs Kosovo Predictions

Montenegro have played two games in Group A, but only have one point on the board after drawing away at Bulgaria and then getting thrashed 5-1 by England, Whereas Kosovo have only played one qualifier for the 2020 European Championships and that game ended all square at home to Bulgaria. England are the clear favourites to take the top spot in Group A, but second place is open for any of the remaining teams to claim, which makes Friday’s match between Montenegro and Kosovo even more important.

Vešović handed Montenegro the lead at home to England in the seventeenth minute, but it proved to be a false dawn for the hosts as England scored twice to lead at the break 2-1. The visitors dominated the second half, scoring three more goals to wrap up a convincing 5-1 win. Kosovo will have been disappointed not to have taken maximum points at home to Bulgaria in March, after the hosts had 64% of the possession and three times as many shots on target as their guests. However, after going behind in the thirty-ninth minute and trailing at the break, Kosovo will have felt some relief to see Zeneli equalise shortly after the hour mark and the game end in a draw.

These two countries have never clashed before, but the performances of both teams in the Nations League and International Friendlies leading into Friday’s match, suggests that Kosovo are worth backing with a double chance bet and that we are likely to see both teams score. Montenegro have only won one of their last six international matches, while Kosovo have drawn three and won three of their last six and are unbeaten in their last twelve matches. Both teams have scored in four of Monetengro’s last five and four of Kosovo’s last six matches. Kosovo have produced three score draws in their last five international matches, which is why we are backing Friday’s game to end in a 1-1 draw.

Montenegro are missing their main goal scoring threat Jovetić through injury, so instead Fatos Bećiraj is their top scorer with nine goals and is closely followed by Stefan Mugoša who has scored seven times for his country. Arbër Zeneli provides a serious goal scoring threat from midfield for Kosovo having netted seven times in seventeen appearances for his country, while striker Rashani has impressed with three goals in five games. We’re confident that a double chance bet on Kosovo will payout on Friday, and have predicted a final scoreline of 1-1. The visitors are enjoying a fine unbeaten run which stretches back twelve matches, while their hosts are struggling to fin their form having lost four of their last six internationals.
