Montreal Impact vs Colorado Rapids Betting Tips & Predictions

Montreal Impact have had a fairly inconsistent season in the MLS so far. They began the season with back to back wins against Whitecaps and New York Red Bulls, but followed it with defeats to FC Dallas and Seattle Sounders before enjoying back to back victories again. Their last two matches have seen them lose to Toronto FC and draw with New York City though.

Despite their inconsistency, the hosts still find themselves at the top of the MLS Eastern Conference with 13 points from their opening eight games. Philadelphia Union and Toronto FC are both within a win of the leaders though, and both teams have a game in hand.

Colorado Rapids have accumulated three more points than Montreal Impact over the same number of matches, but they haven’t been able to make their way to the top of the MLS Western Conference. They sit in 2nd, one point behind FC Dallas but with a game in hand on the leaders. However, LA Galaxy are lurking just two points adrift of Colorado Rapids, and they have a game in hand on them.

The visitors are in very good form at the moment though. They have won three matches on the trot in the MLS and recovered extremely well from their opening day defeat to San Jose Earthquakes back in March. Since then they have beaten LA Galaxy, Toronto FC, Sporting KC, New York Red Bulls, and Seattle Sounders. Their only defeat since the opening match of the season was a visit to Real Salt Lake, with a draw at DC United also marring their record.

Montreal Impact’s nine match winning streak at home ended last weekend as Toronto FC beat them at the Stade Saputo, and Colorado Rapids ended their four match winless streak on the road with a 2-1 win over Sporting KC earlier this month. The visitors are in much better form than their opponents and are looking like contenders for the Supporters Shield this season. I think they can get something from Montreal Impact, and odds of 6/4 for a Colorado Rapids Win or Draw Double Chance are excellent value. I’m backing it to end all square with a 1-1 correct score prediction at 7/1 as well.
