Moreirense may just edge tight contest

Moreirense can give their survival chances a boost and deal a massive blow to those of Belenenses by edging a taut relegation six-pointer on Monday night.

The hosts have an excellent recent record against their guests, winning four and drawing four of the pair’s last eight encounters and, mostly, those games have all been closely fought. Rarely have they produced more than two goals either, which seems like a good betting option for this meeting too.

Fewer than three goals have been scored in the last three Moreirense home contests and the last five Belenenses away games with neither side having much of a record for registering multiple goals in 90 minutes.

Multiple goals from either side unlikely

Moreirense last did it in November and the only time Belenenses have managed more than one goal on their travels in the league came back in September.

Although this could be decided by whichever team scores first – if at all – our belief that Moreirense are the more likely winner comes from the greater experience of their coach.
