NAC Breda vs VVV Predictions

The form of both Breda and VVV has been poor of late, but the visitors have at least picked up a couple of wins during the last month; which is more than can be said about the hosts who have failed to win any of their last nine matches since returning from the winter break.

Breda will be hoping to put in a much better defensive display than they managed last time out at home to Utrecht. Bahebeck and Gustafson both scored in the first half to put Utrecht 2-0 up at the break, and further goals from Janssen and Bahebeck during the second forty-five saw the scoreline end 4-0 to the visitors. VVV came so close to holding out for a draw at home to PSV before the international break, but an eighty-sixth minute effort from Lozano saw the visitors pinch all three points.

The recent head to head record between these two clubs, their performance in the Eredivisie this season, and particularly since the turn of the new year, all point towards a victory for VVV on Sunday and an increased chance of the visitors keeping a clean sheet. VVV have won four of their last seven matches against Breda, and F=four of the last six meetings between the pair have ended in a win to nil. Breda have lost five of their last six matches, while VVV have won two games during that same period. The hosts have failed to score in five of their last six matches, so their guests know that one goal is highly likely to be enough to beat Breda on Sunday.

Breda centre forward te Vrede has scored nine times in the Eredivisie this season, but with the team nine points adrift at the bottom of the table, his goals alone won’t be enough to keep Breda in the Eredivisie. VVV’s Mlapa has scored ten league goals so far this season, and will fancy his chances of adding to that tally against a leaky Breda defence this weekend. We’re confident that VVV will win on Sunday, and have predicted a narrow 1-0 final score. The hosts have not won any of their nine games since returning from the winter break and while VVV have lost more than they have won in recent weeks, the visitors have a good recent record against their hosts and will be confident they can win the game.
