Nancy vs Bastia Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Nancy’s fantastic season continued on Tuesday as they knocked Nantes out of the Coupe de la Ligue to make it six games without defeat in all competitions. This came after a Coupe de France victory at the weekend, and prior to that it was two wins and two draws before the winter break.

This current run of form, which has seen them win eight, draw four, and lose just two of their last 14 matches in all competitions, is more than making up for their disastrous start to the season. They remain in a relatively poor 13th position in Ligue 1 though and are just three points above the drop zone, but there are just seven points separating them from 8th placed St Etienne, so it is still all to play for.

At home Nancy’s form is even better. They have won five on the bounce in all competitions, although they did start their season by losing four of their first five at home. That’s behind them though, and they currently look like a real force to contend with on home soil. They have kept four clean sheets during this winning streak and scored 13 at the other end.

Bastia’s recent form hasn’t quite gone so smoothly. In fact, their return from the winter break was a 7-0 drubbing at PSG in the Coupe de France last Saturday. This makes it four defeats, three draws, and two wins for them in their last nine matches.

Coincidentally this places them just below Nancy in the Ligue 1 table, with just a point separating them. This means the visitors could drop into the bottom three if they lose on Saturday, and a defeat is entirely possible.

Their 7-0 hammering at PSG made it seven losses and just one win from their last nine away games in all competitions. They have failed to score in five of these nine matches too, so they could find it difficult to get past the in form Nancy defence.

On the balance of things I think odds of 1/1 for a Nancy Win are very good value for money, so I’m backing that alongside a 2-0 correct score predictions at 7/1.
