Nottingham Forest vs Brighton Predictions

Brighton have been flying since some smart January business revitalised their faltering promotion bid. They have lost just 1 of their last 14 matches and are unbeaten in 8. They were left in despair when Michael Keane scored an injury time leveller for Burnley last weekend in their top of the table showdown at the AmEx. However Chris Hughton’s side deserve great credit for bouncing back from that disappointment and coming from a goal down to win 2-1 in a tricky fixture at Birmingham last Tuesday. It leaves them still hot on the tails of Burnley and Middlesbrough and the race for promotion could well go right to the wire.

By contrast Nottingham Forest fans have very little to get excited about right now. They’ve lost 8 of their last 10 games to slip down the league but they still have a 9 point advantage on the bottom 3 so are unlikely to be in any kind of relegation drama. Their home form over the past few months has been fairly dire though. They’ve lost their last two home games 3-0 against Sheffield Wednesday and Brentford and have lost 5 of their last 6 matches at the City Ground overall.

That will give Brighton plenty of encouragement going into this game and the City Ground, which was something of a fortress during a 11 game unbeaten Forest home run between October and January, now looks like one of the easiest places to go in the Championship and get a result. The Seagulls have taken 10 points from their last 4 away games with wins coming at Bristol City, MK Dons and Birmingham and they are well capable of doing likewise here so consider backing Brighton to win at 11/10.
