Notts County vs Morecambe Predictions

With the final stages of the season rapidly approaching, the battle to stay in League Two is really hotting up and those sides at the bottom of the table are scrapping for every point they can as they bid to secure their survival in the Football League for another year. This weekend sees the definition of a relegation six-pointer as Notts County welcome Morecambe to Meadow Lane.

Notts County climbed off the bottom of the League Two table after a confidence boosting 3-1 win at Carlisle United on Tuesday night. It was a result which could prove to be vital in their fight for survival as it closed the gap to third from bottom to just four points, a gap which could be closed further with three points this weekend. It has been quite a season for the strugglers as many were expecting them to be challenging for the title, but poor form has meant that they have found themselves at the wrong end of the table and in real danger of losing their spot in the Football League.

Morecambe took another massive step towards safety with a stunning 4-2 home win over promotion hopefuls MK Dons in midweek. That result means that they have now opened up a nine point lead over the bottom two and with just nine games remaining in the season, means that they are within touching distance of securing their spot in the Football League for at least another 12 months.

The hosts may come into this match on the back of an excellent win, but their season has been full of inconsistent results and they have been in poor form overall. Morecambe, on the other hand, are experts at the relegation dog fight and are in excellent form at the moment. Given that they have a pretty strong record in the head to head with Notts County too, we think backing an away win with the added safety net of the ‘Draw – No Bet’ clause is the way to go in this fixture.
