Odense BK vs AC Horsens Predictions

Jakob Michelsen’s OB side take on Bo Henriksen’s Horsens in Monday’s Danish Superliga clash at Nature Energy Park, Odense. The home side sit 13th in the table after picking up just 6 points from their opening 9 games whilst the visitors have started much better, currently sitting in 6th position on 13 points from their opening 9 games.

OB have been a strange side so far this season particularly at home, last season they won 9 and drew 2 of their 16 home league games however they have kicked off this campaign with 3 draws and a loss from their opening 4 home fixtures. Admittedly they have played Copenhagen and Midtjylland in that run who are likely to finish 1st and 2nd this season. Their away form was a big problem last season and this has continued into this season with 4 losses from their 5 away games so the need to improve their home form is huge if they want to avoid relegation.

On the road so far this season they have won 2 and lost 2. Two impressive away results against Copenhagen and Nordsjaelland were either side of 2 disappointing performances and results to Sonderjyske and Midtjylland.

OB have scored just 3 goals in their opening 4 games at home this season with 2 of those coming in the 2-2 draw against Sonderjyske. They have generally kept it quite tight at the back, conceding just 1 goal to both Copenhagen and Midtjylland whilst keeping a clean sheet at home to Nordsjaelland in their latest home fixture. Horsens on the other hand have either played well or poor away so far, they have scored 3 goals in their 4 away games. They have conceded in 3 of their 4 away games keeping their solitary clean sheet in their 1-0 triumph at Nordsjaelland.

We can see this being a relatively close game here at Nature Energy Park as neither team play with much attacking flair. The bookmakers have really sided with the home side in this one pricing them odds on however with their poor home form so far this season we can’t be backing them. Recent head to head’s have been close with just 1 of the last 6 meetings between the sides seeing 3 or more goals. That combined with the lack of goals scored by either team so far pushes us towards the Under 2.5 Goals market which we think represents good value here. With both sides keeping it tight we can see a cagey affair here but with Horsens winning 2 of their away games so far this season we feel they will just have the edge here and for that reason we will be backing Horsens 1-0 on the Correct Score market also.
