Oldham have turned things around over the last month or so and, as a result, have hauled themselves out of the relegation zone; however, they’re only two points clear of trouble and need to continue picking up results in order to remain in the division. Oxford, on the other hand, are still just about in with a chance of gaining a place in the play-offs but, like the hosts, need to keep things going if they’re to achieve their goal.

The saving grace for Oldham is likely to be their surprisingly sturdy back-line. In actual fact, it’s that defensive solidity that could act as the catalyst for the hosts to get a result here. At the prices, backing ‘Oldham Draw No Bet’ is the way to go.

On their own patch, Oldham have been very secure indeed this season. Despite residing in the bottom three for the majority of the campaign, the hosts have kept more clean sheets at home than any other side in the entire division. Having shut their opposition out no less than 11 times, it’s fair to say that Oldham have defended very well indeed.

Oxford are a side who’ve also been useful at the back this season, but Michael Appleton’s men have started to leak a few more goals of late and could come unstuck against an Oldham side who’ll sit in and aim to frustrate before hitting on the counter – a tactic that has served the hosts well in previous matches.

The fact that Oxford have conceded in each of their last four, letting in a total of eight goals in that time, is fairly alarming and it would be no surprise if they were breached here.

If they can keep it tight here, then there’s every chance they can pick up what might be a slightly unexpected win. Given their defensive antics this season, especially at home, the hosts look too big in the betting.
