Osmanlispor vs FC Zurich Predictions
This is one of those rare groups where, going into the final game of the round, literally anything could happen. Osmanlispor currently lead the way in the group with seven points, but Villarreal, Steaua Bucharest, and FC Zurich below them all have six points to their name. This means that any of the four teams could qualify or finish top of the group by the end of Thursday, but Osmanlispor are in the best position with them being the only team who can guarantee qualification with a draw.
They are coming into this game in good spirits as well after beating Karabukspor on Sunday to make it two wins and one draw from their last three outings in all competitions. In general it’s been a rather inconsistent domestic season from them, but at home they have proven incredibly hard to beat.
Osmanlispor have only lost once at home in 2016, with a 2-1 loss at home to Kasimpasa in October ending an 11 month unbeaten streak. Since then they have won three and drawn one of their four games though, so Zurich could be in for a tough time.
Their Europa League success has largely been thanks to striker Raul Rusescu, with him netting four times in the Europa League so far and only adding one in the league. Backing him to continue his European success looks a good option.
Zurich are in good form as well though. They are unbeaten since a Europa League loss to Villarreal in September and have won 12 of their 17 games since then in all competitions. Unfortunately for them three of these draws have come in the Europa League, with a narrow home win over Osmanlispor putting them on six points but bottom of the table.
The visitors haven’t won either of their away days in the Europa League so far either, but in their favour they have managed to score in all 13 of their trips away this season. Osmanlispor have only kept one clean sheet in their last seven at home as well, but I can’t see them failing to score at home for the first time this season on Thursday either. Backing Both Teams to Score at 1/1 looks a very good choice, and that’s what I’m going for along with a 2-1 win for Osmanlispor at 15/2.
