Paris Saint Germain vs Lille Betting Tips & Predictions

Paris Saint Germain’s dreams of an historic clean sweep ended when they were knocked out of the Champions League by Manchester City, but they are still hoping to pull off the domestic treble.

They have already wrapped up the Ligue 1 title with months remaining, and now comes the second rung of the ladder with a Coupe de la Ligue final. They come into the match having won their last two matches since the defeat at the Etihad Stadium, with a 6-0 thrashing of Caen and a more modest 1-0 win at Lorient on Tuesday making up the results.

Lille might be a more difficult team to overcome though. They come into this match having won six matches on the bounce and with just one defeat in their last 13 matches to their name. This has put them in 6th position in Ligue 1, and there are now just four points between them and a Champions League spot.

This excellent run has been brought about by a vast improvement in their attacking play. They have netted 16 goals in their last six games, a huge total in comparison to the measly four goals they managed in the six preceding matches. This has led to some high scoring matches involving Lille, with four of their last six games seeing at least three goals.

Paris Saint Germain are no strangers to goalfests either. They have scored 15 times in their last six matches and have seen at least three goals find the back of the net in nine of their last 14 outings in all competitions.

Both teams will be going for the win on Saturday as well; a draw is no good in a cup final obviously. This makes a high scoring match a likelihood given both teams’ recent scoring form, so odds of 10/11 for Over 2.5 Goals looks good to me. I think PSG will get the win though, so I’m going for a 3-1 correct score prediction at 12/1.
