PSV vs Midtjylland Predictions

• At least three goals have been scored in 16 of PSV’s last 22 home games (since start of 2020-21 season).

PSV can produce another goal-laden game

PSV Eindhoven will try to emulate the stunning first-leg display of the previous round against Galatasaray when they face Midtjylland at Philips Stadion on Tuesday.

Roger Schmidt’s side rocketed out of the blocks on their seasonal European bow by beating the Turks 5-1 and virtually putting the tie to bed in 90 minutes.

They then held a 2-0 lead in Istanbul until Fatih Terim’s side found a late face-saver to land some Over 2.5 goal bets.

Backing goals when PSV play is always enticing because Schmidt sets his team up to attack and we see no reason to look anywhere else but for goals here.

Midtjylland are yet to play a game with more than two goals (in 90 minutes) in it this season, but there were so many in their final games of last season that they still average over three per game over the last nine road trips.

Bo Henriksen has settled on a 3-4-3 formation that opens the pitch up and his side can cause problems out wide from overloads and set-pieces, as Celtic will attest.

But PSV’s home form has been very good over a long period and they should still get a positive result this week, which is why we are taking the Dutch to win 2-1 as our correct score prediction.
