Real Betis vs Deportivo La Coruna Predictions

It was always going to be a tough start for Betis last weekend visiting the Camp Nou and so it proved although Poyet would have taken a few positives from the game despite a 6-2 defeat. For starters they scored more than 1 goal in the game, which is something they only managed on 7 occasions last term as the Seville club ended as the division’s lowest scorers. Somewhat predictably the man who got both their goals was Ruben Castro but with new signing Antonio Sanabria alongside him, Betis now have two genuine threats at opposite ends of their careers and they should complement each other well.

This will be a better test of the progress that has been made. Depor made a winning start last weekend although they had to come from behind to beat Eibar 2-1. Like Betis they were heavily reliant on one player to score their goals last term and Lucas Perez was the man who converted the penalty that gave them maximum points on the opening day. They’ve also strengthened their attacking options though with Carles Gil coming in on loan from Aston Villa while striker Florin Andone who helped turn that game around following his Second Half introduction is also someone who knows the way to goal.

Lucas Perez has been the subject of Premier League interest this week with Everton said to be keen on a move for the Spaniard. He should still line up for Depor here though and what we will see is a game between two sides who have made serious efforts to improve their attacking threat over the summer months. The bookies look to have been a bit slow to react to that and this is likely to be a livelier contest than they are expecting.

Castro and Sanabria scored 29 goals in La Liga last term between them while Lucas Perez hit 17 for Depor and Andone 21 in the Segunda Division. Therefore there are plenty of clinical finishers on display and backing there to be over 2.5 Goals at 23/20 looks to offer value.
