      Under 1.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

Real Sociedad have failed to score across their last four matches and only two teams – Valladolid and Getafe – have netted fewer goals than them in La Liga this season. With Girona also lacking a punch in the final third, this could be a low scoring and low-key affair.

      Real Sociedad 1-0

      Reason for tip

Girona’s last three matches have ended 1-0, two of which they have won, but they were beaten 1-0 by Sociedad in October’s reverse meeting and something similar could play out on Sunday.

      Real Sociedad vs Girona Predictions

      • Real Sociedad have failed to score in their last four matches
      • Girona have netted just five goals across their last seven games
      • October’s reverse meeting between this pair ended in a narrow 1-0 Sociedad win

      Sociedad’s season petering out

After finishing in the top six in each of the last five seasons, Real Sociedad have endured an underwhelming campaign, with a six-match winless run all but ending their hopes of European qualification.

Imanol Alguacil, who will step down as manager at the end of the season, will hope his side can raise their game for his final home match in charge, although Sociedad have not even scored across their last four games.

Girona have also endured a drop off after finishing third last season, although two wins in their last three has at least staved off the threat of relegation.

Goals at a premium in San Sebastian

Sociedad are not the only side that have been struggling for goals of late, as Girona have netted just five across their last seven fixtures, failing to score more than once in any of those games.

Girona’s last three matches have all ended 1-0, two of which they won, but they were also beaten 1-0 on home soil by Sociedad when the two teams met earlier in the season.

It was goalless when the pair met in Catalonia last season and it would be a surprise if this contest featured more than a solitary goal, although with home advantage, Sociedad might just do enough to snatch the win.
