Roma vs Chievo Predictions

Roma’s fine run of form has seen Luciano Spalletti’s side creep up on stuttering Napoli, with just two points separating the sides in the race for second place in the league, which comes with an automatic qualification place for next season’s Champions League. Avoiding the qualifying rounds is a huge boost and Roma have their eyes firmly on the prize, winning 12 of their last 15 games to reduce the gap on Napoli.

Their talisman has been the evergreen Francesco Totti, who looked set to leave the club at the end of the season but is now reported to be having talks over a contract extension. The 39-year-old is certainly playing well enough to deserve another year at the club. Despite playing less than an hour from the bench, he has four goals in four appearances, masterminding three fine comebacks for his side, as well as being involved in a vital 1-0 win against Napoli.

Chievo have had a brilliant season and they are highly likely to finish in the top half of Serie A, but they have slacked off a little in their last two games, collecting just one point and failing to score in either game. But they have only lost one of their last eight games and will not want to roll over at the Stadio Olimpico.

But in what could well be Totti’s farewell, the stage is set for the club icon to deliver one final performance by which the fans will remember him.

We can’t resist a romantic tip here, so we are backing Francesco Totti Anytime Goalscorer at 5/6 with Betfair, while the 7/1 on a 3-0 Roma win, also with Betfair, looks a big price.
