Roma vs Torino Predictions

A run of one win in four Serie A games has loosened Roma’s grip on third place, but Luciano Spalletti’s men should still qualify for the Champions League as despite recent lapses they have a four-point cushion from Inter with just five games to play. A 3-3 draw at Atalanta was a disappointing result on Sunday, especially given Roma raced into a 2-0 lead, with Francesco Totti coming off the bench to rescue a point for his side.

But the drama did not end there, with media reports claiming that Spalletti and Totti then clashed in the tunnel after the game. Spalletti issued a swift rebuttal to these rumours after the match but the damage is done, with rumours regularly swirling about a breakdown in his relationship with Totti, a club icon, who is expected to leave the club at the end of the season. All eyes will be on Totti for the rest of the campaign.

Torino have quietly become one of the form teams in Serie A, winning their last three league games on the back of a 4-1 derby defeat at home to Juventus. Inter, Atalanta and Bologna have all been beaten by Giampiero Ventura’s side, who can now target a top-half finish to round off a decent season.

However, Torino’s recent record against Roma is fairly rotten, with six straight defeats on their visits to the Stadio Olimpico, and that run should be extended by a Roma side who need to get back to winning ways to steady the nerves if they are to confirm third place.

Roma -1 at 5/4 with Betfair looks a fine bet given the number of goals Roma have been scoring recently, as well as against Torino at home in the last few years, while 11/1 on a 3-1 home win stands out too.
