Santos vs Delfin Predictions
- Santos are unbeaten in 14 home games, winning 11 times in the process.
- Santos have conceded just 1 goal during their last 7 home games.
- Delfin have lost 3 of their last 4 games, conceding an average of 1.75 goals a game in the process.
- Delfin have won just 1 of their last 13 away games.
Santos looking to make it 2 wins from 2
Coming into this Copa Libertadores group containing Defensa y Justicia, Olimpia and Delfin, Santos are clear favourites to top it. Peixe made a perfect start in Buenos Aires last week, beating Defensa 2-1 in a tough encounter and if they can pick up 3 points on Tuesday, they’ll put themselves into a great position.
Confidence can certainly be high in Santos’ ranks coming into the game, given their excellent home record. In a sequence of results stretching back to the end of last season, the hosts are unbeaten in an impressive 14 home outings, of which they’ve won 11.
Deflin looking to cause an upset
Meanwhile, in a group they are big underdogs in, Delfin need to try and make home advantage count; something they failed to do in their opener, drawing 1-1 with Olimpia. Whilst not disastrous by any means, it was a game the Ecuadorians were looking to win and leaves them needing to try and pick up points on the road.
Delfin’s prospects of taking something home from Brazil do not look the brightest; not only because of their poor recent form but also their underwhelming away record. Indeed, the visitors have now lost 3 of their last 4 matches, conceding an average of 1.75 goals a game whilst on the road they’ve won just 1 of their last 13 fixtures.
Santos are clear favourites
Ultimately, there can be no doubting that Santos are clear favourites to win Tuesday’s game and it’s not a match they are expecting to slip up in. Man for man, they are by far a stronger team than Delfin and if they play at anywhere near their maximum, they’ll get the job done.
All things considered, we see good value in backing a Santos win to nil and feel it’s by far the best way to play as far as the betting is concerned. Santos have conceded just 1 goal in their last 7 home matches and we can’t see Delfin blighting that record, with a 2-0 margin of home victory on the cards.
