Sheffield United vs AFC Wimbledon Predictions
The top teams stuttering in terms of form seems to the theme in League One at the moment and Sheffield United are no different. Having hit the top of the table not so long ago, everyone expected Sheffield United to kick-on and build an almost Chelsea-esque lead; however, that hasn’t been the case at all. Having failed to win any of their last three fixtures, Chris Wilder’s team have been overtaken by Scunthorpe and now sit 2nd.
Other than going out of the FA Cup to non-league opposition, Wimbledon haven’t fared that bad of late. They’re unbeaten in four league matches and could certainly cause the hosts some discomfort here.
The bet that catches the eye here is ‘Over 2.5 Goals & Both Teams to Score’ at 13/10.
Although the general view will be that Sheffield United are likely to win easily in this fixture, with the way things are going that is no guarantee. The visitors have often thrived on the counter and they will certainly be allowed to operate such a tactic in this match.
With the attacking quality in their squad, you’d expect Sheffield United to cause Wimbledon plenty of problems with the ball; however, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they were caught out on the counter – after all, this is exactly what happened last time out against Fleetwood.
In addition, four of the last five Sheffield United matches would have seen ‘Over 2.5 Goals & Both Teams to Score’ land, while the same can be said for three of the last five Wimbledon fixtures.
In a fixture where backing the hosts represents little value, siding with a high-scoring encounter with goals all-round is the best way to go.
