Smouha vs El Gouna Predictions

  • Smouha are now unbeaten in nine games, four of which they’ve won.
  • Each of the last four renewals of this fixture have ended all-square.
  • 2011 was the last time that the team playing at home won this fixture. There’s since been nine renewals.

Hosts tough nut to crack

Smouha haven’t quite got to the leading trio in the Egyptian Premier League, but they have established themselves as a top-half team and are becoming increasingly difficult to beat.

Wednesday’s hosts come into this fixture having lost none of their last nine games. They’ve only won four of those nine, so aren’t exactly infallible, but they’re very good at avoiding defeat and are still picking up plenty of points.

This venue is where Smouha have done their best work, as they’ve won each of their last three, scoring five and conceding two in the process. Such form bodes well ahead of a match against a visiting side that has struggled on the road.

Visitors improving

Winners of their last two, El Gouna have improved of late, especially in the final third, scoring five goals in 180 minutes of football. Such efforts should mean that they go to Alexandria Stadium in confident mood.

However, for all their recent wins are positive, El Gouna’s overall away form is worrying. Wednesday’s visitors have won just one out of four on the road, scoring in just one of those four. Prior to facing the dodgy defence of Pyramids, El Gouna had gone three away games without finding the net.

Opportunity knocks

Smouha have been in great form at home of late and they’ve been given a good opportunity to extend their winning run. For those interested in getting involved, the home win appears to be the best option. El Gouna did recently win on the road but their overall lack of goals doesn’t bode well, especially since Smouha have been scoring with regularity at home. Smouha’ extra attacking quality can allow them to get the better of a visiting side that has scored in just one out of four on the road this term.
