Solihull Moors vs Notts County Predictions
- Solihull Moors have won their last six home matches.
- Solihull Moors have scored two goals or more in each of their last six home matches.
- Just 38% of Notts County’s points have come away from home.
Home success the key to a good season
It has been a story of home comforts for Solihull Moors so far this season as they have made it very difficult for any side to come to Damson Park and go away with a positive result. The hosts have won nine of their 11 matches on home soil so far this season and with a record like that, it should come as no surprise to learn that they have the second best home record in the division. Even the fact that they are second is only thanks to the fact that the side top of that particular stat have played three more home matches than Solihull.
It is a record which is only getting stronger with each passing week too as they have won each of their last six home league matches, and with at least two goals scored in each of those six contests, it is easy to see why they are so successful. The hosts are currently well within the play-off places and they know that if they are able to add a further three points to their tally then they will be well placed as we go into the new year.
Bouncing Back
The latest side to make the trip to Damson Park is a Notts County side who will be hoping for a strong performance to put an end to a disastrous 2019. The visitors lost their spot in the Football League for the first time in their history this year and have so far struggled to adapt to life in non-league football. However, they are far from out of the running and they know that if they are able to have a strong second half to the season, then they may be able to make their stay in the National League a brief one.
If County are to accomplish this then they are going to have to improve on an away record which has seen them win just four of their 12 away matches in the league this season, and given that they have managed just two wins in their last seven league matches, albeit both of those wins coming in their last two matches, it seems unlikely that they will be strong enough to topple such a commanding home record.
Home strength should prevail
While the improvement of Notts County heading into this fixture is not to be ignored, the strength of the hosts just simply overwhelms every other stat. They have won each of their last six home matches and managed to score two or more in the process. Meanwhile, they boast the strongest defensive record in the division with just 27 goals conceded to date. With this in mind, it is hard to pick anything other than the hosts coming out on top in this fixture.
In terms of a correct score tip, we have already discussed that the hosts have scored at least two times in each of their last six home matches, but given that they also average two goals per game overall at home this season, it seems likely that they will hit this number once again. Factor in that they concede approximately a goal per game and the visitors score an average of 1.67 goals per game on the road, then a 2-1 home win looks to be the most likely result.
