Stoke have really started to put together a good run of form recently after struggling through a run of four defeats in five matches earlier in 2016. They come into this game having won three of their last four matches, with their only failure to win being a 1-1 draw with the in form Chelsea last weekend.

Despite their previous run of poor form, they have still only lost one of their last five matches at the Britannia Stadium and have won three times during this period. This has taken them into a fairly impressive 8th position in the Premier League, with their 43 point tally leaving them just seven points adrift of the top four positions as the race for Europe really heats up.

Southampton sit just below the in 9th position in the table, with their recent drop off in form leaving them two points adrift of their opponents on Saturday.

The visitors could only manage a 1-1 draw at home to the floundering Sunderland last weekend, but at least that ended their run of two defeats in a row after both Chelsea and Bournemouth defeated them in the Premier League.

It looks like Fraser Forster’s return to glory is over now, as they have conceded seven goals in their last three matches after a run of six games without conceding a goal.
