Stoke vs Tottenham Hotspur Betting Tips & Predictions

Stoke have had an impressive season in the Premier League so far, but their hopes of achieving their best ever finish in the top flight took a blow last weekend as Liverpool hammered them 4-1 at Anfield.

This was their 2nd defeat in their last five games, and their singular win during this period has seen them drop to 9th in the table, one position below their highest ever finish.

They have had a difficult run of games to be fair to them, but a 4-1 drubbing is rarely excusable and they should have done more to secure points against the likes of Swansea and Southampton at the Britannia.

Tottenham Hotspur are well on their way to having their best ever Premier League campaign, but unless things change it’s still likely to end in disappointment. They sit in 2nd position in the table, but with all of the big four clubs faltering they will feel like they could have done more to challenge Leicester, who sit seven points above them.

They couldn’t have done much more recently though. Spurs have won three of their last five Premier League games and nine of their last 12, losing just once. That’s title winning form, but unfortunately for them Leicester have achieved that little bit more.

Goalscoring is not a problem for either of these sides generally. Spurs have scored in all but one of their last 12 league matches while Stoke have scored in eight consecutive games in the Premier League. The Potters have only kept one clean sheet during this run though and Spurs have conceded in seven of their 12 recent league matches.

This has resulted in some high scoring games for both sides recently. Stoke have seen at least three goals in eight of their last ten outings and Spurs have in seven of their last ten. This makes odds of 1/1 for Over 2.5 Goals look very good value to me, and I’m backing a Spurs win with a 2-1 correct score prediction at 8/1.
