Tottenham Hotspur vs Bournemouth Predictions

Tottenham Hotspur didn’t really put up much of a fight on Thursday as they hosted Borussia Dortmund in the second leg of their Europa League clash. They were 3-0 down from the first leg and put out a largely second string squad for this leg as well. Pierre Emerick Aubameyang put the tie to bed with a beauty of a goal 24 minutes in, and after that it was just a case of playing out the remainder of the 90 minutes. Dortmund ended up winning 2-1 on the night and 5-1 on aggregate, but we all know where Spurs’ priorities lie.

They are second in the Premier League table with a five point gap to make up over top of the table Leicester. Arsenal sit six points adrift of their North London rivals in 3rd. An historic Premier League title is on the minds of everyone at Spurs, so it’s understandable that they chose to rest many of their key players in the Europa League.

Bournemouth are unlikely to prove pushovers on Sunday though. The pre season relegation candidates all but sealed safety last weekend with a thrilling 3-2 win over Swansea. This was their 3rd win on the bounce and leaves them 13 points clear of the bottom three, in 13th, with eight games left to play.

Whether they will drop off the boil now that they are so close to safety remains to be seen, but if they maintain their momentum they could prove a difficulty for Spurs on Sunday.

Both of these teams are in good attacking form coming into this match. Spurs have netted 19 times in their last nine Premier League matches and have hit the back of the net nine times in their last four home matches in the league. Bournemouth have managed eight goals in their last three outings, but have only kept two clean sheets in their last ten matches. Spurs aren’t doing any better on that front though, with eight of their last ten games also seeing the opposition score.

This makes odds of 4/5 for Both Teams to Score look very attractive, and I’m also going for a 3-1 win for Spurs at 12/1.
