Uruguay vs Peru Predictions

Luis Suarez made his first international competitive start for Uruguay since being handed a nine-match suspension for biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini at the 2014 World Cup.

The Barcelona front man scored the equaliser in a 2-2 draw against rivals Brazil. Douglas Costa & Renato Augusto put the Brazilians ahead, but Edison Cavani reduced the deficit, with Suarez’s goal securing the point.

Uruguay have been in strong form so far this qualifying campaign, their only disappointment coming in match day 3 where first place Ecuador defeated them 1-2, however they responded well with 3-0 victory over Copa America winners Chile in their following fixture.

In their opening qualifying game they beat Bolivia away from home 2-0, followed by a 3-0 demolition of Colombia on their home turf. Uruguay are now second in the qualifying table after five matches

Peru were rescued by Raul Ruidiaz, who converted in stoppage time to rescue a point in a 2-2 draw at home to strugglers Venezuela. A first-half penalty from Romulo Otero & a strike from Mikel Villanueva in the 57th minute put Venezuela 2-0 up, before Paolo Guerrero reduced the deficit. His goal making him joint top all-time Peruvian goal scorer alongside Teofilo Cubicles on 26.

Peru will be disappointed to only have taken the point against Venezuela, losing 3-0 to Brazil in the prior game. They also recorded a 1-0 victory against Paraguay, after losing to Colombia and Chile in their opening two games 2-0 and 3-4 respectively.

Both sides have been scoring with ease coming into this fixture and we see no reason why there shouldn’t be plenty of goals in this one. Get Over 2.5 goals 17/20 with bet365.
