Valencia vs Eibar Betting Tips & Predictions

Valencia found sweet revenge for their 7-0 Copa del Rey defeat at Camp Nou on Sunday evening pulling off perhaps the most surprising result of the season by winning 2-1 at Barcelona. Not only has it blown the title race wide open but it has also all but guaranteed Valencia their safety, something which was certainly in question a couple of weeks ago. They move onto 40 points and 11th place and will be back in the top half and possibly as high as 8th if they can beat Eibar, the side directly above them. That would be 3 wins in a row for Pako Ayestarán, who is putting himself firmly in the frame for the permanent managers job.

Eibar also got a fine win at the weekend to all but guarantee themselves a 3rd straight season in the top flight. They beat Basque rivals Real Sociedad 2-1 at home to end a really poor run of form which had seen them pick up just 2 points from their previous 8 league matches. Their away form has been poor for a prolonged period of time now. They’ve won just 1 of their last 14 away games and have lost 10 of them so certainly you have to make a re-vitalised Valencia side firm favourites here.

Only 1 side outside the bottom six has a worse defensive record than Eibar who have conceded 21 goals in their last 8 away games. With Valencia’s confidence back they are playing better football and probably should have added to their 2 goals at Camp Nou in the closing stages of Sunday’s win. They should be too hot for Eibar here and backing Valencia to score 2 goals or more at 4/6 looks like a bet that is highly likely to win.
