Vancouver hoping to build momentum

Vancouver Whitecaps got off to a poor start to the new season, losing at home to Sporting KC but things improved last weekend when the side picked up a 1-0 win over LA Galaxy at Stubhub Center. They will be looking to pick up another win here and pick up some extra momentum in a season where they were predicted to struggle.

Vancouver have scored twice so far this season, one in each game, but conceded three in that opening day defeat by Sporting KC leaving them with a negative goal difference. They’ve performed well in the final third, having nine shots on target so far and last week was particularly encouraging as they restricted LA Galaxy to just one shot on target last weekend.

Colorado Rapids targeting playoff football

Making the playoffs has been the goal for Colorado Rapids since the end of last season with the side showing the kind of form in 2019 that meant they could make an impression on the end of season competition. They’ve continued that form into the new season too with two wins over DC United and Orlando City so far.

The side have had 12 shots on target over those two games with the side looking really good in the final third. They’ve won both of those games 2-1 and a similar result could be on the cards this weekend with The Rapids looking full of confidence at the beginning of the new season.

Tough times ahead for Vancouver

Vancouver’s win last weekend was quite a shock with the side being a little fortunate in their victory and we think that they could come back to Earth with a bump this weekend. Colorado Rapids have looked really confident to start the season and we’re backing them to pick up another win on the full time market this weekend.

We can’t see there being many goals in this game with Vancouver looking a little light in attack and although they have scored in both games so far this season, we think they will fail to net this weekend. Colorado look like a win could be on the cards and we’re predicting they will pick up a 1-0 victory.
