Whitecaps vs Houston Dynamo Betting Tips & Predictions

Whitecaps managed to get their first MLS win of the season last weekend as they beat Seattle Sounders 2-1 away from home thanks to two Pedro Morales penalties either side of a Seattle Sounders goal.

This followed on from back to back defeats at the start of the season against Montreal Impact and Sporting Kansas City. These defeats are largely thanks to their poor defensive setup. Whitecaps have conceded six goals in their opening three matches, scoring five at the other end.

This isn’t a good problem to have when you’re coming up against Houston Dynamo. The visiting side have already netted 11 goals in the MLS this season, averaging just under four goals per game.

Their defence is rather leaky as well though, which a 3-3 draw against New England Revolution and last weekend’s 4-3 defeat to New York Red Bulls illustrate.

Houston Dynamo’s leaky defence and scintillating attack may frustrate and excite their fans in equal measure, but there’s no doubting their entertainment for the neutrals. Eight of their last nine outings have seen at least three goals scored, with seven of these games also seeing both teams get on the scoresheet.

Whitecaps have also seen at least three goals in all of their matches so far this season, so I think we can expect goals on Sunday. This makes odds of 4/5 for Over 2.5 Goals look incredibly good value for money, and I’m backing that along with a 2-2 correct score prediction at 12/1.
