Wycome vs Aston Villa Betting Tips

Wycombe Wanderers have had a fairly good first half to the season, although they did suffer a 2-0 defeat at home to Morecambe last weekend.

This brought an end to their five match unbeaten streak, with this run helping Wycombe towards a decent 6^th place position in League Two.

They finished 4^th last season and missed out on the chance of promotion in the playoffs. They will certainly be aiming for moving up a tier this season.

Wycombe have already dispatched of higher tier opposition in the FA Cup this season, with a 2-1 win at League One Millwall seeing them progress to this tie. However, Premier League opposition will be a lot more difficult.

But if there was a Premier League side Wycome will have hoped to draw, it will have been Aston Villa.

Aston Villa haven’t won a game in any competitions since September, with that 1-0 win over arch rivals Birmingham being one of their three wins in total this season. One of them came from extra time as well.

11 of their 15 games since the last win have ended in defeat for the relegation threatened side, so they’re pretty low on confidence to say the least.

However, Remi Garde will know that a comfortable win over Wycombe could kickstart his sinking ship into getting some league victories.

I’m expecting Garde to put out the strongest team available to him for this one. If Aston Villa lose this match their confidence will be further crushed, whereas a win could provide a much needed boost to the players.

I am expecting Villa to get the win in this one, and due to their shockingly bad form the odds are looking really good. An Aston Villa win comes in at 21/20, so I’m backing that along with a 1-0 correct score prediction at 11/2.
