AC Horsens vs Hobro IK Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Hobro will travel to Horsens in search of a first league win after their abysmal start to the season. Horsens have picked up some good early results though and won’t roll over easily for the men from the North.

Both teams have jumped across several leagues in recent years but just after a solid year last season, Hobro look favourites to go back down to the 1. Division. They managed to finish 7th in their first year back in the top division in 2017/18 but just as the club’s outlook seemed to be optimistic, they have dragged themselves back into this rut of promotion and relegation. Sitting bottom of the table with no points, Hobro will have to start getting scrappy if they want to stay in the division. If this horrible form continues for even a few games longer, then they could find themselves separated from the rest and doomed to go down.

Hobro have been unfortunate to have games against some of the title contenders in their two opening matches but the team hardly put up a fight during their 3-0 humiliation by København and couldn’t keep a hold of the ball when they were beat 2-1 by Brøndby in a match where they only had 26% possession. Hobro now have the perfect opportunity to get their first points on the table against Horsens who have been better than Hobro but still average.

It looks as if Hobro are starting to pay the price after an extremely quiet transfer window which only saw them bring in four players, three of which were 21 or younger. Their failure to bring in tried and tested quality ahead of this second season in the top flight could come back to hurt them even more in the season if they eventually get relegated.

In Horsens’ three matches so far, they have picked up a win, a loss and a draw. This has been okay form considering that it is only their second season back in the top division. The club managed a fantastic victory over København on the first day of the season but then had to rescue a draw defeat against Randers with a late penalty and then lost their most recent match against Sønderjyske. Horsens will be desperate to win this match and reassert their quality after managing to beat one of the title contenders in København.

Despite Horsens losing their last match against Sønderjyske, the form of Hobro has been even worse and we can’t see them picking up their first win away to Horsens, who have only lost one of their last five home games. The Gule Fare showed their potential with their opening day defeat of Sønderjyske and we think that they will bounce back from their latest defeat with a positive result against hopeless Hobro. Hobro have scored in all but two of their last 10 games so should get a goal in this one.
