ADO Den Haag vs De Graafschap Predictions

Both Den Haag and De Graafschap remain in the bottom half of the Eredivisie table after the pair were beaten last weekend, and both teams will see Saturday’s game as a great chance at returning to winning ways. Den Haag sit two points and three places above the drop zone, while newly promoted De Graafschap find themselves sitting second from bottom and four points adrift of safety.

Ajax completed dominated Den Haag at the Johan Cruijff Arena last time out with an impressive 66% of the overall possession, nineteen corners to their guests three, and twenty-five shots during the ninety minutes compared to the seven Den Haag managed. Neres handed the hosts a fifteenth minute lead before full back Tagliafico made it 2-0 in the twenty-first minute, but Meijers did provide brief hope for the guests when he pulled a goal back for Den Haag in the thirty-eighth minute. However, de Ligt restored Ajax’s two goal lead just before the break to end any real hopes of a comeback for the visitors.

Just three minutes after the restart for the second half van de Beek scored a fourth goal for the hosts, and substitute Dolberg netted a fifth late on to wrap up a much deserved 5-1 for Ajax. Top scorer El Khayati wasn’t available for Den Haag last weekend, but even his presence wouldn’t have stopped Ajax from winning the game. However, Saturday’s hosts will be desperate to see El Khayati return from injury as soon as possible, as the Dutchman has scored ten league goals this season and is the only Den Haag player to have scored more than once so far.

De Graafschap duo El Jebli and Serrarens joint top score for the newly promoted club this season with three goals each in the Eredivisie. Nijland has scored twice, but goals are certainly a big issue for De Graafschap and may be something the club looks to address during the transfer window. De Graafschap were unable to end their losing streak last weekend when they played host to Zwolle, where Leemans handed the visitors a fourteenth minute lead.

The hosts were architects of their own downfall in the first half as defender Nieuwpoort was shown a straight red card just four minutes after De Graafschap had gone 1-0 down. Zwolle totally dominated the rest of the match and eventually wrapped up the three points in the seventy-fifth minute when Namli scored to make it 2-0. Embarrassingly, De Graafschap failed to produced a single shot on target during the ninety minutes, at home against another of the Eredivisie’s struggling sides.

Neither side can claim to be in good form heading into this weekends game, but with the home advantage the bookmakers have Den Haag down as the favourites to claim all three points. We’re confident that Den Haag will win and have backed over 2.5 goals to be scored in the process, with the hosts claiming a narrow 2-1 victory. Three of the last four competitive matches between Den Haag and De Graafschap have produced over 2.5 goals. Four of Den Haag’s and four of De Graafschap’s last six matches have produced over 2.5 goals. De Graafschap have lost each of their last five matches in league and cup, and we’re expecting that losing streak to continue this weekend.
