Ajax vs Lille Predictions

• Ajax have won their last ten games in all competitions including their 1-2 victory over Lille last week.
• However, the Eredivisie leaders have conceded in five of their last seven games overall and in five of their last six at John Cruyff Arena.
• Lille have failed to score just once in their last dozen matches across all competitions.

Ajax to Edge a Thriller in Amsterdam

The Eredivisie and Ligue 1 leaders clash again this Thursday evening and its Dutch giants Ajax who are fancied to come out on top once more after their 1-2 first leg triumph in France seven days ago.

Two goals in the last five minutes saw Ajax come from behind to register a priceless victory at Stade Pierre Mauroy and the result has left Lille with it all to do if they’re to reach the Last 16.

We have to anticipate that the French outfit will come out firing in this one as they seek to overturn their deficit and they need to score at least twice. That should play into Ajax’s hands though and it’s difficult to envisage Erik Ten Haag’s men letting this one slip considering they’ve won their last ten matches in all competitions.

Based on that sequence, last week’s result and the likelihood that Lille will leave themselves exposed in Amsterdam, we’re backing another Ajax success here but with both teams to score added into the mix.

The visitors have failed to register just once in their last dozen starts in all competitions and should be good for at least one goal again, although we’re tipping the hosts to prevail on the night via a 3-2 score-line.
