Almere City FC vs FC Den Bosch Predictions

It’s pretty remarkable how things have turned around in Eerste Divisie since the beginning of 2019. Den Bosch were top of the table on New Year’s Day whilst Almere City were struggling in the bottom half, and yet the sides prepare to face each other on match day 34 with just three points separating them in the standings. Den Bosch have faded into a pretty remote 4th after just two wins from 12, whilst Almere City have shot up to 6th under the guidance of new boss Ole Tobiasen following four straight wins. It seems fairly clear then that the hosts will be carrying all the momentum going into this Friday’s clash at Yanmar Stadion.

Almere City did no more than what was expected of them in a 0-2 away win against bottom side Jong Utrecht last week, but the result did mark Schappenkoppen’s fourth consecutive league win and fourth clean sheet on the bounce.

Tobiasen’s side look safe in the Play-offs now on 53 points as they are five clear of the teams outside of the top nine with just five fixtures in the regular season remaining.

City will be keen to finish as high as possible though to avoid the Preliminary Round in May, and everything appears to be in their favour this week as they hunt down an important three points against Den Bosch.

Aside from their four match winning streak, City have won four of their last five outings at home keeping clean sheets in each and they boast a fine recent record against The Blue White Dragons.

The last eight meetings between the pair have produced six wins from City and two draws including a 1-4 hammering at Stadion De Vliert back in September – a result which the visitors will be desperate to avenge here.

Following a run of three straight defeats, things have perked up for Den Bosch over the past week or so with a couple of decent results at home against Jong PSV (3-1) and Sparta Rotterdam (1-1), but their away form is deeply concerning with just two draws gained from their last six outings on the road.

That spell includes a 5-0 beating at NEC in mid-March, and Wil Boessen’s charges are pretty impossible to fancy on their travels at present until they start showing a bit more.

As outlined above, Almere City are red hot at the moment and seem to hold all the aces here, so we’re recommending a three point stake on the hosts at a touch of odds-against. Four out of the last five meetings have featured at least four goals, and we expect the same here with a 3-1 correct score forecasted.
