Almere City FC vs Telstar Predictions

Almere City have been a revelation since the appointment of new boss Ole Tobiasen, and they notched their fifth consecutive league win on match day 34 with a comfortable 3-1 success over Den Bosch at Yanmar Stadion to move level on points with The Blue White Dragons in the table. City will be keen to better their current 6th place to give themselves a more favourable passage in the upcoming Play-offs and they will be fancied to extend their excellent run this Friday when they turn out at home again to face Mike Snoei’s Telstar.

Almere are the form team in the division right now and they will go into May’s Play-offs as one of the likelier candidates for promotion if they can maintain their strong performances and results over the final four games of the regular season.

With this Friday’s home fixture against 15th placed Telstar and an away trip against 17th Dordrecht following to close out the Easter weekend, City could quite feasibly extend their winning streak to seven over the next few days and it’s not inconceivable that they can finish the campaign in 3rd with the teams above them struggling for consistency.

Last week’s 3-1 victory over 5th placed Den Bosch was their fifth win from their last six outings at Yanmar Stadion, so this looks a pretty daunting contest for Telstar who had their faint Play-off aspirations killed off by leaders Twente on match day 34.

The IJmuiden outfit played extremely well at De Grolsch Veste but ultimately went down 1-0 after an early goal from Rafik Zehknini, and the result ended a fine streak of six wins and one draw from seven for Mike Snoei’s side.

Telstar simply got going far too late to realistically contend for a place in the top nine, and although they have to be respected here based on how strongly they have performed during the last couple of months, it wouldn’t at all be surprising to see them taper off now that their chances of qualification are gone.

Recent exertions could also begin to take their toll, and we fully expect the hosts to come out best in this one. The sides drew 1-1 in November’s reverse fixture whilst Telstar pulled off a 2-3 triumph here last term, but City are a different proposition altogether now under the guidance of Tobiasen and they have momentum and an edge in quality on their side.

City look a must for any Friday multiples at around the 7/10 mark and they are also worthy of a three point single here, with a 3-1 correct score predicted.
