      Amiens vs Nice Predictions

It really is quite incredible how different Nice are on the road compared to how they play at the Allianz Riviera. Les Aiglons have won six of their last nine games at home but they are winless in their last seven games on the road, despite facing some very poor sides like Monaco and Guingamp. The epitome of this horrible away form came last week when they were embarrassed 3-0 by 12th placed Angers. It was the first time Angers had scored three times in a match since the start of November and it really just accentuated how poor Nice are when not playing on the Côte D’azur. Nice have conceded 15 goals in their last six away games.

Nice have been better at home but generally they are under-performing, with just three wins in their last 13 matches. They currently sit 8th but have the second worst attacking record in the league and are at risk of dropping out of Europa League contention due to the very congested upper-middle portion of the table.

Amiens should look at this poor away record with great excitement but they have problems of their own that they still need to fix. They have won just one of their last eight matches with their beating of 19th placed Caen the only bright spot in a pretty turgid run of results. They battled hard last week against a good Marseille side as they managed three shots on target and twice the number of corners of les Olympiens, but ultimately lost 2-0.

Amiens have lost each of their last three home games but these were against PSG and Lyon twice. In their last match at the Stade de la Licorne against more reasonable opponents, they managed ten shots on target as they drew 0-0 with Angers, the team that thrashed Nice just a few days ago. Amiens currently sit 17th, just one point above the relegation zone and are desperate for points. They have picked up 13 of their 21 points at home and we think they could really give Nice a run for their money here.

The last clash between these sides ended 1-0 to Nice but it was via an own goal and was an extremely close game in truth, with Amiens probably just edging it in terms of chances created. Nice will be pretty dejected after being beat 3-0 last week but Amiens will go into this game with a lot more confidence due to them winning their last home game and playing well against Marseille. Nice are currently quite weak and with Amiens desperate for points, we’re going to back the hosts to win 1-0. None of the last five clashes have seen both teams score and with the last meeting so tight, we’re predicting the struggling Unicorns to stun Nice and get the three points.
