Amiens vs Nimes Predictions

Amiens were desperately unfortunate to draw their match against Reims last week as they went 2-0 up on the extremely formidable 6th placed side before allowing Boulaye Die and Mathieu Cafaro to bring the game level, trading Amiens’ three points for just one. This win would have been massive for the Unicorns but they just need to take solace from the fact that they have really improved in recent matches. 

They have lost just one of their last four games despite losing the previous five and after beating Caen (1-0) and Patrick Vieira’s Nice (1-0), there is some positivity back in the camp, something they need to bring into this match. Moussa Konaté has been involved in three of their last four goals with two strikes and an assist really just proving his importance to the side. He has linked up very well with on loan Köln striker Serhou Guirassy in recent weeks and that partnership will be pivotal to wherever Amiens finish this season. 

Nîmes had their match last week postponed so they had more time to reflect on their 3-0 defeat in Paris but generally they have been extremely impressive this season and have won four of their last eight games, a great tally for the newly promoted side. They weren’t great against PSG but few teams rarely are.

They’ve scored ten goals in their last ten games but their rather poor away record could come back to bite them here as they have lost five of their last six games on the road with 14 goals conceded and five scored in this time.

Amiens have been pretty good at home recently with back-to-back wins following some commendable defeats to Lyon (0-1, 0-2). Their last two wins finished 1-0 to the Unicorns and we’re backing another low-scoring fixture as six of their last seven games have seen under 2.5 goals. Nimes have been okay recently but with their horrible away form, we’re backing Amiens to get a 1-0 win.
