      Amiens vs PSG Predictions

      • PSG have won each of their last 11 away games in all competitions.
      • Amiens have scored in all but two of their 14 home matches this season; they have also netted three times in their last four clashes with PSG.
      • PSG have conceded four goals in their last three matches.

Amiens in need of a big performance

Luka Elsner’s Amiens side were sure they had got their first win since November last week as they led Monaco 1-0 going into the 85th minute. However, as has been a theme for the 19th-placed side, they managed to lose 2-1. They are now winless in their last 12 league games and need to be careful or risk losing sight of Nîmes just above them in the table.

They have picked up just four of their last possible 36 points and have scored the third-least goals and created the least chances, by some margin. In this time they have also conceded the second-most goals so it doesn’t make good reading for Amiens fans.

They will be the hosts for this one but the Unicorns haven’t been making the most of the Stade de la Licorne recently, picking up the second-least points at their own ground this season. They have had opportunities to gain wins against fellow relegation candidates Dijon (1-1) and Toulouse (0-0) but ultimately they blew them both, which makes you fear what could happen here against PSG.

      PSG in full flow

In true Parisian form, PSG continued their reign of destruction on Wednesday with a 6-1 win in the Coupe de France quarter-final. Dijon gave them a good game as they only trailed 2-1 at half-time but the capital club managed to turn on the style in the second 45 with goals from Pablo Sarabia really nailing the win.

They’ve now scored 29 goals in their last nine matches in all competitions, with 17 in their last four really underlining the form they’re in. However, there have been some cracks defensively appearing as of late, with four goals conceded in their last three matches. This is particularly worrying as two of these goals came from two of the league’s worst attacking sides.

      Amiens to trouble the champions?

PSG will be bolstered by their away form here, though, as they excel on the road. They’ve won each of their last 11 away games so we’re expecting them to get the three points but with Amiens’ back against the wall and the visitors’ below average defensive displays as of late, we see both sides getting on the scoresheet.

The hosts have netted three times in their last four meetings with PSG so we’re backing this to finish 3-1 to the away side. Despite Amiens’ position in the table, they’ve only conceded more than three goals in one of their last 10 home games, so this is the scoreline we’re predicting.
