Club Brugge to Win

Reason for tip

Anderlecht are short on confidence after losing three of their last four games and look set to be without some senior players due to injury and illness. Club Brugge are in form at the moment with three wins from their last four away league games.

Mario Stroeykens To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Anderlecht striker Mario Stroeykens hit a brace as a sub last time out and the teenager could be handed a start here after another impressive showing off the bench against West Ham in midweek.

Bayern of Belgium can take ‘topper’ spoils

Anderlecht are low on confidence ahead of Sunday’s ‘topper’ against Club Brugge – who secured their passage to the Champions League knockout phase on Wednesday.

The Brussels club put in a pretty meek showing against West Ham in Thursday’s 2-1 Europa Conference League defeat at London Stadium. Felice Mazzu was without Marco Kana, Adrien Trebel, and Julien Duranville through injury while Majeed Ashimeru and Lior Refaelov did not travel because of illness.

Jan Vertonghen did make his return from injury on the bench, but the game was in the bag for the hosts by the time he was introduced as Mazzu bent to fans’ calls for him to play a back four. Wesley Hoedt was dropped after some poor form, but Purple and White showed little improvement and could easily have been 3-0 down by half-time.

Anderlecht’s teen sensation could bag at big odds

It looks like a huge ask for them to turn things around in this Sunday’s clash with the champions, who are now hearing themselves described as the ‘Bayern of Belgium’. Champions for four of the past five seasons, Brugge are down in third at the moment, but won’t be panicking about Antwerp’s lead after overhauling Union Saint-Gilloise in the playoffs last season.

Blauw-Zwart have won three of their last four away league games – one of which was against a team above Anderlecht in the current table – and will be confident of victory here.

One potential problem for them could be the form of teenageAnderlecht striker Mario Stroeykens, who is value at 15/4 anytime after bagging a brace as a substitute at Mechelen last week, which could also bring both teams to score into play. A 2-1 Club Brugge victory is preferred in correct score markets as the hosts have scored in four of their six league contests at Lotto Park, but have shipped goals in their last five.
