Barcelona 2-0

Reason for tip

Barca averaged 1.95 goals per home game last term and they have scored exactly twice in two of their last three games. The Catalans have scored at least twice in four straight meetings with Betis, so back a 2-0 win.

Barcelona vs Real Betis Predictions

  • The Catalans kept a clean sheet in 84% of their home matches last season
  • Barca’s only home game of this campaign brought a 2-0 victory over Cadiz

How will new-look Barca fare?

After winning three of their first four games, it’s been a good start to the campaign for Barcelona. However, the Spanish champions are set to get even stronger, with this weekend set to see them field an impressive mix of new additions and highly-rated youth academy graduates.

The Catalans signed Joao Cancelo from Man City and Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid on deadline day and the pair are expected to feature here. Cancelo adds to a defence which was excellent last term, while Felix slots into an attacking midfield three with Gavi and Lamine Yamal.

Yamal was handed his Spain debut at 16 years old during the international break, becoming Spain’s youngest-ever scorer in the process. He’s expected to make the starting 11 this weekend, as Barca try to continue their perfect start at their temporary new home.

Catalans to ease to victory

Real Betis have marked themselves out as potential top four contenders this term, but under Manuel Pellegrini, they aren’t expected to take too many risks on Saturday night. Betis have had some tricky fixtures, including a 0-0 draw against Atletico Madrid.

They meet a Barca side which kept a clean sheet in 84% of their home games last term and the Catalans started with a 2-0 victory over Cadiz in their first home game of this campaign. Backed by exciting new arrivals and with 17 wins in their last 20 clashes with Betis, Barca look good for a win this weekend. Given their great defensive record since the start of last term, look to Xavi’s side to win and not concede.
