Barnet vs Chesterfield Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

It has been a long old season but this weekend sees the Football League play it’s final round of matches as the regular campaign comes to an end. Although most of the issues in League Two have already been decided, there is still one major one which is still up in the air, as Barnet look to secure their future in the Football League for another season when they welcome already relegated Chesterfield to the Hive Stadium this Saturday afternoon.

The hosts have found themselves revitalised since Martin Allen came back to manage Barnet for the fifth time in his career and given that the visitors have little left to play for other than pride, all eyes will be on the Bees to get the job done. Allen’s side have looked much improved in recent weeks and are far from dead and buried so with this in mind, we think that backing the hosts to claim all three points is the way to go in this fixture.

Of course, even if Barnet do get the victory, a vastly inferior goal difference to Morecambe means that if the Shrimps claim at least a point, it will likely end up as the Bees being relegated to the National League. It is an uphill task for the hosts and they know that they will probably have to win by a fairly significant margin if they are to avoid the drop, as a point for Morecambe in the other fixture will leave them requiring a seven goal swing in order to secure safety.

Their confidence in being able to secure the points will be boosted by the fact that they are coming up against a Chesterfield side who hold the unwelcome record of having the least amount of points away from home in the division. The visitors have suffered 15 defeats on their travels and their 11 point return away from home is one of the worst records in the country.
