Basel vs Getafe Predictions

Basel play host to Getafe on Thursday evening, as they look to continue leading the way in Group C. the visitors are hot on the heels of their Swiss hosts, who’ll they’ll be hoping to leapfrog by winning.

It’s been a solid European campaign for Basel so far. The Swiss side have bagged themselves seven points from three games and are yet to taste defeat in Group C. While Basel have attacked well and defended poorly at home, Getafe have done so on their travels. On their own patch, the Spaniards, who’ve claimed a healthy six points from their first three matches in Group I, have kept things quite low-key, scoring one and conceding one in just over 180 minutes of football.

When Getafe played away from home against Krasnodar on match-day two, they delivered a pleasing attacking effort, which culminated in two goals for and all three points. That said, they were weak at the back, so much so that they were fortunate to concede only once.

With what we’ve seen in Group I so far, ‘Over 2.5 Goals’ stands out as a viable betting option ahead of this fixture. From an attacking point of view, Getafe thrived when playing on the break away against Krasnodar, so they ought to relish taking on a Basel side that will inevitably come forward at home. Consider this in conjunction the respective home and away efforts mentioned above and it’s easy to feel that the chances of a relatively high-scoring unfolding are greater than the early prices suggest.
