Bayern Munich vs Fenerbahce Predictions

Bayern’s pre-season didn’t start well, as they lost to Arsenal in the USA, though they’ve since bounced back. First off, they got the better of Real Madrid, winning by three goals to one, while they continued to do well when beating AC Milan by a goal to nil last time out. Now back on their own patch, the Bundesliga champions will be hoping to build further momentum ahead of the new campaign.

Since their pre-season campaign began, Bayern have made steady progress. They did lose against Arsenal, but their performance wasn’t bad at all, while they took the positives from that game and kicked on against Real Madrid, as they delivered a commanding performance to win by three goals to one. Last time out, they weren’t as fluent in the final third, as they could only manage a single goal against Italian outfit AC Milan, but defensive improvements were evident. Bayern kept their first clean sheet of pre-season last time out.

Fenerbahce made a pleasing start to their warm-up campaign, as they got the better of Boluspor, winning by two goals to nil, while they continued to tick along nicely when beating Bursaspor by two goals to nil a week later. However, since then, the Turkish outfit have taken on foreign teams and have found life slightly tougher. They weren’t outclassed when drawing 1-1 against Wolfsburg, though they did look slightly limited going forward, while much of the same can be said for their most recent game. Last time out, Fenerbahce lost 2-1 against Hertha Berlin, which doesn’t exactly bode well ahead of a game against Germany’s biggest and best.

After they struggled to seriously impose themselves against other German sides, it’s easy to envisage Fenerbahce having a tough evening at Allianz Arena, though we shouldn’t assume that the hosts will run riot.

As a betting prospect, this game doesn’t appeal greatly, though those looking to get involved could do worse than ‘Bayern to Win & Under 3.5 Goals’. Bayern have looked useful in pre-season, but they’ve only scored more than once in one of their three games. They looked nice and sturdy last time out, which bodes well given that Fenerbahce looked limited against Hertha, but their performance didn’t exactly suggest that they’d come out all guns blazing on this occasion. Moreover, for all they were beaten by Hertha, the Turks kept it respectable, so backing them to avoid a battering here seems reasonable.
