Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid Predictions

While this match is Real’s first pre-season assignment, Bayern have already blown away the cobwebs, though they were unsuccessful. After losing to Arsenal, the German champions will be looking to improve. Real Madrid will be hoping to kick-start their pre-season campaign with a win, while they’ll also be hoping that their new signings can hit the ground running.

Playing against Arsenal in their opening pre-season friendly was never going to be straightforward, so it wasn’t the greatest surprise that Bayern came unstuck. They did lose the game, though Niko Kovac’s men will have taken a few positives; they looked good in possession and created some good chances in the final third. If they can use that performance as a platform from which to build, then there’s no reason as to why the German champions cannot do well going forward against Madrid, who’re yet to test the waters in pre-season, but whether or not they’ll be able to resist defensively is another matter. Against the Gunners, Bayern looked somewhat weak at the back.

They’re yet to take to the pitch, but Real Madrid have had a busy summer in the transfer market, adding the likes of Ferlan Mendy, Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic and Eder Militao, all of which are expected to feature in some capacity on Sunday.

Having already played in the USA this summer, Bayern have a slight advantage, though the German side don’t exactly have a good record at this tournament. Last season, they lost against both Juventus and Man City, while they’ve now lost five of their last seven.

In truth, this friendly is certainly not a game to get excited about from a betting point of view. Those looking for an angle can take a punt on ‘Real Madrid to Win & Both Teams to Score’. Real have rarely kept a clean sheet at the ICC, but they’ve won each of their last two, despite conceding. Having added Hazard and Jovic to their armoury, Los Blancos now have an embarrassment of riches going forward, so they’re backed to outscore a Bayern side that has tended to struggle defensively at this tournament, conceding seven in their last three, each of which they’ve lost.
