Boa vs Crb Predictions

Saturday’s Brazilian Serie B action sees two struggling sides do battle, with Boa hosting CRB. Little action is expected in what’s already a huge match, even at this early stage of the season.

Boa have certainly been the poorer of the two sides and already look consigned to relegation, barring a miraculous turnaround, which just doesn’t look on the cards. Coruja have been in dreadful form throughout the campaign so far and have only managed to collect a paltry 7 points from 14 matches, leaving them rock bottom, 8 points adrift of safety.

New boss Ney da Matta made a fairly promising start to his reign, picking up a point in a 1-1 draw at Guarani but normal service was resumed last time out, with Boa falling to a lacklustre 2-0 defeat at Atletico GO. Simply put, this Boa side looks short on both quality and fight and that’s more than evidenced by the fact they’ve won just once all season.

Whilst not in quite as wretched shape, CRB are hardly covering themselves in glory either. Galo only beat the drop by one point last season, so a season of struggle was always likely to be on the cards and so it has proved in the action we’ve seen so far, with the side occupying the final relegation spot after claiming just 15 points from 14 matches.

New boss Doriva at least got off to a winning start in CRB’s last outing, running out 1-0 victors at home to Sao Bento. Nonetheless, the fact that said result was just CRB’s second win in 11 matches across all competitions more than illustrates the task at Doriva’s hand but he’ll be hopeful of taking something home from this trip .

Ultimately, both sides are in poor shape but one cannot deny that CRB have been by far the more competitive of the two. That being said, the fact that Boa have home advantage has us set for an even contest, none more so than because CRB are very poor travellers, having lost 5 of their 7 away games in the league so far.

In such a tense fixture, few thrills and spills are to be expected and we really like the look of the game ending all square as a result. Both of last season’s fixtures between the two ended in draws, extending a run that has seen Boa and CRB take a point each from 5 of their last 6 games between one another.

3 of said draws have ended without score and another stalemate looks on the cards, making backing the match to end 0-0 well worth a play, in addition to our main tip.
