Bolton v Bristol Rovers predictions for Tuesday’s League One fixture at the Macron Stadium. After losing at the weekend, Bolton will be looking to reignite their promotion challenge. Continue reading below to see our tips for this match.

Reason For Bolton vs Bristol Rovers Betting Tips

Bolton will have undoubtedly had one aim this season and one aim only – earn promotion back to the Championship. As things currently stand, The Trotters have every chance of achieving their goals, although a loss last weekend certainly didn’t help their cause. If anything is going to prevent Bolton returning the second tier then it’s likely to be their inconsistency. Phil Parkinson’s men have drawn far too many games and will be in for another tough test when they welcome play-off chasing Bristol Rovers to the Macron on Tuesday night.

The bet that stands out here is ‘Both Teams to Score’. On their day, both sides have the ability to do plenty of damage going forward, but both also have a tendency to concede a few goals.

In recent weeks, the hosts have scored their share of goals, but they’ve also conceded in four of their last five and have now kept just one clean sheet in their last ten in the league. On top of this, both teams have scored in eight of their last ten also. Encouraging stats.

As for the visitors, well, Bristol Rovers find themselves in something of a similar predicament. Darrel Clarke’s men are no strangers to scoring goals – fourth-highest scorers in the division – but certainly struggle when it comes to shutting teams out, particularly on the road. Rovers have conceded in nine of their last ten away matches and have managed to keep just two clean sheets on the road all season. However, despite failing to convince from a defensive point of view, as touched on above, having failed to score in just four of their 16 away games, finding the net hasn’t been too much of a problem.

With both of these two chasing promotion, we could see a frantic, attacking affair here and both are fancied to have enough about them in order to get themselves on the scoresheet.

Head to Head

The meeting between these two that took place earlier in the season is the only time that the pair have previously faced each other. Bolton came out on top by two goals to one.
