Bradford vs Burton Albion Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

After making a pleasing start on the opening day, delivering a promising performance in the process, Bradford have gone downhill over the last couple of weeks. Firstly, they lost to Barnsley, while they walked away from Roots Hall with nothing to show for their efforts on Saturday. Now back in front of their own fans, the hosts will be hoping to regain the winning thread.

Bradford were beaten at the weekend, and deservedly so, though judging by how Southend have started the new campaign, there’s not too much shame in that result. They did taste defeat on match-day two, though Barnsley are another strong team, so they can be forgiven for that result too. Prior to those defeats, the Bantams made a pleasing start to the season by playing very well away against Shrewsbury, a repeat of that performance on Tuesday night would likely see them do well.

What Bradford haven’t done in the last two games is create, and that is something that they need to start doing a lot more of. With the likes of Jack Payne, Sean Scannell and Eoin Doyle in their line-up, they’ve got the players to do very well offensively, so if Michael Collins can get his tactics right, the Bantams should start to thrive in the final third.

Over the first few weeks of the season, Burton have had a different problem. Nigel Clough’s men have been creative enough; they’ve made chances, while they’ve scored in all three of their games, though they’ve not done enough at the other end of the pitch. For all they did more than enough with the ball to get a result on the opening day, their defending let them down, while much of the same can be said for their second game when losing 3-1 away to Gillingham.

Tuesday’s hosts continued to offer a threat when they beat Doncaster by a goal to nil last time out, though they weren’t exactly secure at the back, despite keeping a clean sheet. Realistically, had Doncaster had their shooting boots on, it would’ve been a third consecutive game without a shutout, as the hosts conceded chances.

Bradford should be capable of doing much better offensively on their own patch, while Burton also should continue to do reasonably well in the final third. Add in the fact that neither have covered themselves in defensive glory both in terms of chances and goals conceded and it becomes very easy to plump for a high-scoring game at Valley Parade.

Given their respective performances of late, ‘Over 2.5 Goals’ appears to represent a slice of value at the current prices.
