      Braga vs Feirense Predictions

Braga sit third in the Primeira Liga table, just three points behind league leaders Porto and one behind second placed Sporting. Friday’s hosts are in great form with five wins from their last six matches and take on a Feirense side that occupy one of the relegation places heading into the match, but could climb as high as twelfth if they beat Braga.

Braga only narrowly scrapped passed Tondela last time out, in what ended up being a much closer game than anyone predicted. The relegation battling hosts had 51% of the possession, three times as many corners, and just as many shots on target as their high flying guests, but were undone by a thirty-first minute strike from Wilson Eduardo. Braga certainly road their luck last weekend, but the hallmark of any good side is picking up a win when you don’t play well.

Feirense and Maritimo also played out a very close game last weekend, but this one was expected with the two teams only separated by a point before kick-off. The first half ended goalless despite both teams carving out chances to score, but the deadlock was eventually broken by Feirense via a seventieth minute penalty from Tiago Silva. That goal looked like it was going to win the game for the hosts, but Maritimo had other ideas and deep into stoppage time substitute Valente levelled the scores and silenced the home fans.

These two teams last met in April where, despite taking the lead twice, Braga were forced to settle for a draw. Paulinho scored the only goal of the first half on the half hour mark to put Braga in front, but a sixty-first minute strike from Luís Machado levelled the sides. An eighty-second minute strike from Dyego Sousa looked to have won the game for the visitors, but once again Feirense fought back to force a draw via a stoppage time equaliser from Briseño.

Braga are the clear form favourites heading into Friday’s match with five wins and one defeat from their last six in all competitions. Feirense have been inconsistent of late, earning two wins, one draw, and suffering three defeats in league and cup. Brazilian Dyego Sousa is the man to watch out for in this game as the Braga forward ha scored seven times in the league this season and top scores for the hosts, closely followed by Eduardo on six.

We’re confident that Braga will win and over 2.5 goals will be scored on Friday, and have backed the game to end 3-1. Braga have won five of their last six matches against Feirense. Over 2.5 goals have been scored in five of the last six matches between the pair. Braga have won five of their last six matches and three of those matches have produced over 2.5 goals.
