      Brazil vs Senegal Predictions

South American champions Brazil are back in action on Thursday as they look to return to form. The September break brought a 2-2 draw with Colombia and a shock 1-0 loss to Peru for the Samba Stars. They are out to turn things around this week, but how will they fare against the side who went to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations in the summer?

Thursday’s clash in Singapore is a big one for Brazil and for Neymar. The PSG star missed the Copa America on home soil, forced to watch on as his teammates lifted the trophy without him. Now Neymar is back in the side, with his 100th cap on the way this week. The forward may have had a turbulent summer, but he remains committed to his national side and he’s a big part of their recent rise.

Senegal have one of the most promising sides in Africa, but they lost 1-0 to Algeria in the Cup of Nations earlier this year. They edged through the competition with a strong of low-scoring games, but we aren’t sure that they can match up to this Brazil side when they are in full flow. After all, the African side did go out of the World Cup last year in a loss to Colombia, while they were beaten 2-1 at Croatia in their last away friendly.

We see Brazil causing Senegal problems this week, with the South American side scoring twice in four of their last five friendlies. They scored 13 times in their six Copa America games, while they are benefitting from the return to form of some top stars. Neymar is fit again, Philippe Coutinho is playing well and Roberto Firmino is in the form of his life. That should fire on the favourites, so we’re backing over 1.5 Brazil goals in this clash.

We’re also backing a 2-0 victory for Brazil this week, as the South Americans look to extend a strong run of form. They have lost just once since the 2018 World Cup, winning 13 times over the last 13 months. We are backing them to secure another result, especially given that they have kept a clean sheet in seven of their last 10 games. As a result, we see value in a 2-0 victory for the Samba Stars.
