Over 3.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Brentford may be struggling for wins but they have scored in five successive games, while over 3.5 goals have been netted in three of those matches. It is a similar story for Forest, who have scored at least twice in all five of their games since Nuno Espirito Santo’s arrival as manager, but he is still awaiting his first clean-sheet.

Draw 2-2

Reason for tip

Three of the last four meetings between these two sides have finished all-square and with goals likely on Saturday, a repeat of last season’s 2-2 draw at the City Ground could be on the cards.

Chris Wood To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Chris Wood has rediscovered his best form since Nuno Espirito Santo’s arrival at Nottingham Forest. The New Zealand international has scored five in five under his new boss, including a hat-trick in Forest’s last away league fixture at Newcastle.

Brentford vs Nottingham Forest Predictions

  • Brentford have scored in five consecutive matches across all competitions.
  • Nottingham Forest have scored at least two goals in all five of their matches under Nuno Espirito Santo.
  • Chris Wood has scored five goals across his last five games for Nottingham Forest

Entertaining six-pointer on the cards

Both Brentford and Nottingham Forest are sitting dangerously close to the Premier League relegation zone heading into their meeting at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday evening, with the visitors occupying 15th, just a place and point above their hosts.

Brentford’s recent drop in form has been alarming, as they have lost five league matches on the spin and seven of their last eight, while they exited the FA Cup after losing their third-round replay at Wolves during the week.

The Bees did take that match to extra time and in their two cup games against Wolves they have shown they are not a busted flush despite their run of poor results.

Thomas Frank has seen his side score in five successive games across all competitions, with over 3.5 goals occurring in three of those games, while the long-awaited return of Ivan Toney for Saturday’s match will further boost their threat in the final third

Forest also needed extra time in their cup replay with Blackpool, coming through 3-2 to extend their unbeaten run to four matches.

The Tricky Trees have scored at least twice in all five of their games since Nuno Espirito Santo’s arrival as manager, but they have also conceded in all of those contests, making over 3.5 goals in Saturday’s game all the more likely.

Struggling pair difficult to separate

A quick glance at these two sides’ form would suggest Forest would have the edge, but the visitors have only won three of their 29 Premier League away matches since returning to the top flight.

Given their struggles, Brentford can’t be trusted either, but the signs are that Frank’s team could be set to turn a corner, with the return of Toney and recent signing of Sergio Reguilon likely to hand them a boost.

Three of the four previous meetings between these two sides have ended all-square, including their clash at the City Ground earlier this season, with a 2-2 scoreline – a result that came in when they met in Nottingham last season – offering plenty of potential.

Wood to continue firing for Nuno

The return of Toney for Brentford is sure to dominate the headlines in the lead up to this game, but after an extended period out of action, the England international may be limited to a cameo role.

Preference in the anytime scorer market could therefore be with in-form Forest forward Chris Wood, who netted the winner in the cup against Blackpool, taking his tally since Nuno’s arrival to five in as many matches.

That run includes a hat-trick in Forest’s last away league fixture at Newcastle and while he may struggle to hit those heights again, the New Zealand international should provide his side’s main scoring threat in west London.
