      Brighton vs Huddersfield Predictions

It’s been an up and down season for Brighton so far in their second Premier League campaign, and at the moment they are definitely in one of their downward spirals. Their excellent autumnal period has given way to a real struggle through the winter months, and if they’re not careful they could easily find themselves battling against the drop.

Tuesday saw them limp to a disappointing 2-1 defeat at an out of form Leicester, extending their Premier League winless run to 7 games and pushing them to 16th in the table. They are just 2 places above the drop spots and could find themselves in the bottom 3 if they don’t win on Saturday.

The Seagulls’ form is marginally better at the Amex Stadium though. They have only lost on home soil 4 times this season and have won 5 games. All but 1 of their defeats have come against current Premier League Big Six sides, so Saturday has the potential to be a real turning point.

Huddersfield are about as far from Big Six quality as you can get in the top flight. The Terriers sit rock bottom of the Premier League table with a meagre 14 points from their 28 games so far. Survival looks so far out of the equation that the fans have lost all but the slimmest of hopes, although their midweek game will have rekindled some of that fire.

The Terriers managed to pick up their first league win since November, beating Wolves 1-0 to end a 14 match winless streak. In fact, their last victory prior to Tuesday’s game came in the reverse fixture against Wolves, meaning they have taken 43% of their total points off Wolves this season.

Of these 14 winless games, a huge 13 ended in defeat. They sit 11 points adrift of safety at the moment, and even an out of form Brighton side look incredibly tough opponents at the Amex Stadium. We think backing the home win here represents very good value for money, so we’re going for that alongside a 2-0 correct score prediction.

We’re also backing Glenn Murray to hit the back of the net. The veteran striker has scored 7 of his 10 league goals in front of the Amex Stadium faithful this season, so he looks a great choice for our anytime goalscorer predictions.
